Five high school friends have one thing in common as they start their sophomore year: none of them have ever been on a "real" date. With homecoming looming, they make a pact and start a secret club they call the DG (Dating Game). They're sworn to secrecy--and to purity--but the club is their way to set each other up on their first dates so they can report back to the DG. Of course, they all make different choices about how to deal with their parents and how to act on their dates, and they discover that they all have totally different experiences. Still, the things they learn about boys and dating will stick with them throughout high school. Bestselling author and teen favorite Melody Carlson starts off her newest series with a good dose of fun, tackling two topics teen girls love to read about--friends and boys.
On an icy February night, the body of Steven Pleasant, a prominent Portland, Maine physician, grows cold in his parked Mercedes. All signs point to a john killed by a disgruntled hooker: his pants are unzipped, wallet is gone, and the good doctor has a reputation for entertaining girls in his car. But the deeper Detective Sergeant Joe Burgess digs, the muddier the case becomes. While juggling hookers, wives, ex-wives, fathers, stepfathers, dealers and doctors, a nurse on Pleasant's staff suggests another angle—disgruntled patients. Now, ensconced in the darkness of a sleeping hospital, Burgess comes face-to-face with ghosts from his past and must decide what being a detective really means. This poetry book describes eclectic things in my life, things that only make sense to a few souls. I have traveled a bumpy road, with holes, curves and boulders in the way. My travels have a lot of dead ends, detours, stream crossings, lightning strikes , landslides and earthquakes of life. but with a sense of humor. There are people who have traveled some of the same roads. This book is for "What if, or "I wisha, shoulda, coulda, woulda" people. And if you aren't this way, you can just stand on the sidelines and watch or just read about my parade, and live through my experiences. ...just read on, McDuff...
When police search seventeen year-old Sawyer Hayden's wallet after he steals and crashes a vintage motorcycle they find just three things:The fake I.D. his brother bought him, his real ID without a motorcycle endorsement and the empty condom wrapper he saved from his first night with Sarah. What police don't find is his list. A list of the three things Sawyer blames for turning his once promising athlete of a father into a trucker who's life went nowhere. A list that before tonight he never left home without. Before tonight Sawyer lived his life by that list, like a map he used to avoid the same path his father traveled. A map he used to find a road of own, a road he knew for a fact would pave the way to a college scholarship and a future in basketball. But that was before tonight. Because despite all Sawyer's careful planning his map sends him down a road toward an obstacle he never sees coming. An obstacle that slams him head on and reveals a fate worse than failure. Success. Now broken, bleeding and running out of time Sawyer is forced to make a new list. A simple list with only one strategy. Live long enough to fail.
The Life System: God and Man 101 is a spiritual how-to book that teaches people how to use God’s Word and their own words to solve any issue and actually create the things they want to see in life by imitating God. This book takes the notion that God works in mysterious ways, and turns it head over heels by pointing out the simplicity of God and His relationship with Man.
Inside the covers of this book you will find the Real Scriptures of the Christian churches. Many church leaders know that other Christian churches hold to these books but they are only willing to state what they have been brain-washed to believe, that is about the other inferior books: "It isn t in the canon" (of scripture) formed of course by the early Catholic Church at various stages and Councils from the fourth century A.D. therefore no one has the right to change what is in the canon of scripture and the Catholic Church changed it in their councils not in agreement of other Christians but to hide their offence at the words of God. They would not even imagine that different churches have different scriptures and assume that the correct canon of scripture must be the one first declared by the Catholic Church and its priests but other priests must be considered demented or apostate, but they are not affected by the changes they made to the canon of Scripture over many centuries. They will not consider the canons of Orthodox Churches or others because they vary in different regions of the world. So is European Christianity based in the Vatican City right about all its holy scriptures while everyone else s church scriptures are false scriptures? Ethiopia it seems got most books of scripture right even with their translation into an ancient language!
So many times I look back at my life and wonder what would my life be like if the events in my life would have been different. Its so easy to get into the What if rut in our lives. Through it all, no matter how many times I look back on my life, I can not change my past. Everything that I have gone through, the good and the bad, has made me the person I am today. The situations that I have gone through have helped prepare me for whatever journey is before me
Carefully crafted, precisely written, and fully documented, this doctrinal resource assembles an abundance of meaningful new scriptural patterns. Have any questions about the nature of the Godhead? Look no further! the Godhead: New Scriptural Insights on the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost will not only answer your questions, but it will also intrigue you with insights you may not have pondered before: Christian beliefs about God; attributes and physical natures of Godhead members; individual insights on God the Son, God the Holy Ghost, and God the Father; and the ultimate objectives of divinity. New doctrines? No - they've been in the scriptures for centuries. But profound new insights? By the hundreds! the Godhead shows, historically and scripturally, how allegorical-interpretation methodologies of trinity advocates altered the major doctrines of Christianity, causing them to discount the many literal biblical statements concerning the nature of God. Other major contributions of the Godhead include its numerous insights on premortal events, its compilation of hundreds of scriptures showing the physical nature of God, and its in-depth scriptural demonstration that Jesus is Jehovah. More key insights treat the essential attributes of Godhead members, their spirit nature, their threeness and oneness relationships, the varied fatherhood roles of Jesus Christ, the nature of glory, Christ's roles among the Gods, and how mankind can attain Godhood. Author Duane S. Crowther is widely known for his indepth doctrinal studies on many topics, including his books Prophecy - Key to the Future, Life Everlasting, and Prophets and Prophecies of the Old Testament.
The Qur’an and Its Interpreters introduces the Western reader to the Qur’an as Muslims have understood it. The record of the Qur’an in the community as a force shaping the life of Muslims can be most clearly discerned through the vast literature of interpretation known as tafsir. This multivolume work is based on a large number of tafsir sources, representing all the major religious schools and stages of Muslim history for the last one thousand years. It will cover the entire Qur’an. This first volume consists of an introduction to the science and sources of interpretation of the Qur’an and the first two surahs of the Qur’an. The treatment is comprehensive and thorough. While the work is based entirely on primary sources, this volume includes a substantial bibliography of works on the Qur’an in Western languages. The Qur’an is the word of God as it was revealed to the prophet Muhammad, interiorized by the community, then shaped into an earthly book whose original archetype is with God. Dr. Ayoub concerns himself not with the history of the Qur’an, but with the way it was collected and fixed into an official codex, the recension of which has voiced the community’s prayers and devotions, set its legal norms and moral standards, and occupied its best minds for more than thirteen hundred years.
